We’ve released our 2026-27 Annual Work Plan, which sets out our key priorities for the financial year.

This year, our focus is on holding the Australian Government to account for the effective implementation of aged care reform.

Our key priorities include:

  • reviewing government actions against the 148 recommendations from the Aged Care Royal Commission
  • examining restrictive practices in aged care and how they can be reduced and eliminated
  • assessing preventive and early-intervention supports and whether greater investment in these can improve outcomes and reduce demand for higher-cost aged care services
  • reviewing the aged care complaints system and whether current laws and regulations support a person-centred and rights-focused process.
